Tokyo Auto Salon 2012 (Japan)
Alpine exhibited at the custom car event, Tokyo Auto Salon 2012 with NAPAC, which was held in Japan from January 13 to 15, 2012. Held for the thirtieth time in its history, it was a bustling event setting a new attendance record of more than 250,000 visitors.
At the Alpine Booth, the exhibit was centered on the newest model in the BIG X Series of the super-large LED display car navigation system. Among the products on display, the VIE-X088V, winner of the “Good Design Award,” attracted the interest of visitors thanks to uniquely attractive Alpine qualities, gorgeous images on the advanced LED liquid crystal display, beautiful installation with installation kits specialized for each car model for a factory-installed look, and a rear vision link function that enables operating the navigation or video from the rear seat monitors.
Alpine's new rear vision systems, the PCX-R3500 and PCX-R3300, which are equipped with plasma cluster technology were also exhibited as reference products. Visitors highly evaluated these systems -- which allow them to enjoy high-quality video and clean the air of their car at the same time – and eagerly looked forward to seeing them on the market.
A demo car, Honda FIT HYBRID equipped with the Green Premium Sound System, featuring the highest sound quality with environmentally friendly features and components, was on display in the center of the stage. Revolutionary lightweight products which transform the common concept of speakers – including a 1-inch woofer, the Fresh Air Sub Woofer, and a super lightweight compact amp – were exhibited as reference products and advanced solutions for environmentally compatible cars, which are now becoming mainstream in the auto industry.
Additionally, three demo cars including a Toyota Vellfire were equipped with the newest BIG X system -- allowing visitors to fully experience Alpine's amazing sound and advanced features.
